We are two musicians and music producers based in Vienna.
After first meeting in the beginning of 2008, we started to jam together from time to time, writing singer-songwriter songs for the guitar. During 2008 and 2009 both our musical tastes became more electronic and with favourite bands being at the junction of acoustic and electronic we started to teach ourselves sound production that would allow listeneres to wonder if something they heard was from a “real” instrument or an electronic device.
The borders between song and track continued to excite us and in 2010 we decided to make a demo with the three tracks Dead Choyce, Redhead and Epilogue. This planned demo became an EP which in the end became our homerecorded debut LP Another Day that we self-released in the summer of 2010 ending up on the longlist for the Austrian music prize Amadeus Award.
After that – in September 2010 – our first remix for the song Futures by Zero 7 featuring José González found its way onto a music blog from the United States and subsequently got 15.000 plays in three days from all over the world reaching #8 in the Hype Machine charts.
Our luck with remixes continued when just a few months later we won the Metric remix competition with a new rendition of Sick Muse which was included into the official release.
2011 we signed to the Austrian indie label Las Vegas Records which rereleased Another Day and finally provided us with real distribution. The eponymous single reached #5 in the FM4 charts and #6 in the Austrian indie charts while during 2012 we kept busy playing acoustic shows and writing new songs.
Recording sessions and production for our second LP were completed in April 2013 and this time the music had become harder and clubbier than on our debut, so we changed our live approach to an advanced live pa setup to convey what we sense is the electronic core of this new record.
This Night Was Meant To Stay hit the record stores on June 28th (AT) respectively July 5th 2013 (DE, CH, NL, BE, LU) and we are looking forward to see you at one of our shows soon!
Until then all the best,
